Music Library Overhaul
Overhaul a decades-old music library, safely. Narrow it down to a lossless collection of music you actually care about.
Over the years you rip CDs, grab downloads and collect music from all kinds of sources. Much of it seemed worth keeping at the time. Music Library Overhaul is a skill your coding agent follows to work through the whole library with you, one phase at a time, explaining each step before it happens.
What it does
- Finds damaged files: tracks cut short by an interrupted copy, files that won't open, and "lossless" albums secretly hiding lossy tracks.
- Sorts out duplicates while keeping remasters, live takes and other real versions apart.
- Fixes tags: artists split by spelling, live shows named by date, venue and source, and blank "Unknown Artist" files.
- Separates spoken word and music videos from the music.
- Helps you decide, artist by artist, what to keep locally, what to move to Spotify playlists, and what to let go.
- Converts WAV and AIFF to ALAC or FLAC, proving the audio came through identical.
Every change is previewed first, and everything removed goes to a trash folder you can restore from.
